More people 'ready to utilise contactless payments'
1 Sep 2011
Members of the public who lead a hectic lifestyle have expressed their desire to use contactless payments in a bid to speed up low-value transactions.
A recent study commissioned by Visa Europe revealed that 58 per cent of users preferred the advanced system over cash or cards when they wish to get out of a shop quickly.
Published by the Daily Telegraph, the results also showed that participants claimed they would rather use contactless payment methods in any situation where there is a queue.
In addition, the Contactless Barometer survey discovered that 85 per cent of users would recommend the innovative technique to their friends and family.
The results emerge after a number of well known brands launched the technology in high street stores, including Caffe Nero, Subway and selected Boots outlets.
These findings were revealed after NFC News revealed that an EMV Training Academy has been launched in Pasadena, California to promote the technology in the US.
