New contactless smart card for Pizza Hut customers
14 Sep 2009
Contactless smart cards can now be used in transactions at three Pizza Hut restaurants in Dundee and Dunfermline.
The card is provided by eMoney network sQuid and functions as a method of payment and as part of a loyalty scheme.
Using contactless payment methods means that customers do not have to carry around cash - boosting both consumer convenience and safety.
Moreover, the card is linked to an email voucher loyalty programme, which presents cardholders with the chance to exchange reward points for food and drink in-store.
Andrew Pollard, franchisee owner of the three Pizza Hut stores, said he was pleased to support the local Dundee community.
He added that sQuid will allow the company to make its customers' lives easier "at the point of purchase", as well as reward loyal patrons "with some great deals".
The company provides contactless smart cards for a number of other organisations in Dundee, including the city's council, the National Entitlement Card, the University of Abertay and various local retailers.
