New eMoney parking solution launched in Grimsby
18 Jun 2010
Motorists in Grimsby will be able to use eMoney solutions to pay for their parking fees.
The pay-and-display machines at a local car park have been replaced with a new cashless system which requires users to pay via credit card, reports the Grimsby Telegraph.
Residents simply call up an automated line and key in their details, which will make topping up tickets much more convenient for shoppers who stay longer than predicted.
The new system will also boost security, as there will be no ticket in the windscreen alerting thieves what time the car owner is due back.
Lawrence Brown from Scotts, the firm who manage the car park, told the news provider: "It is easy for drivers to pay their parking fees, it means that staffing costs are minimised and it also means that there are no security issues when collecting the coins from a ticket machine."
A license-plate recognition system will be used to ensure all fares are paid before drivers leave the site.
