People who are interested in contactless payment techniques have been told of the current popularity of online banking.

According to research by Pay Your Way, which was conducted by Opinium Research, 67 per cent of Brits now prefer to access their stored money via this strategy.

Furthermore, when asked how regularly they check their accounts over the internet, 24 per cent admitted to at least once a day, while 39 per cent do so on a weekly basis at minimum.

Confidence of using online banking portals is recognised by 79 per cent of respondents, with just four per cent saying they do not feel relaxed carrying out transactions in this way.

Sandra Quinn, from the Pay Your Way campaign, noted: "We all lead busy lives and managing your money online is a great and safe way of saving valuable time, while being able to keep an eye on our finances as often as we like!"

Near field communications technology is also proving popular, with 20.5 per cent of Brits saying they are ready to take up this mobile development, according to a recent Acxiom study.
