Over half of US vending machine operators set to adopt e-money solutions

Over half of vending machine operators in the US plan to adopt e-money solutions in 2011, according to new research.

Apriva, a provider of end-to-end wireless transactions, has published the results of a survey which show that 57 per cent of vendors are set to either integrate or expand the use of cashless technology over the next 12 months.

Just eight per cent of respondents revealed that they would not embrace e-money in 2011.

Stacey Finley Tappin, vice president of sales for Apriva, said: "The findings confirm what we're seeing in the field - that a growing number of operators understand the profound benefits offered through cashless technology, and are prepared to make the strategic decision of bringing these solutions into their businesses."

Of those firms who plan to incorporate cashless technology into their machines, around 30 per cent said that they would install their devices in universities orschools.
