Payments 'evolving' in line with ecommerce developments

The way people pay for goods and services is evolving in line with ecommerce growth and developments such as mobile transactions and eMoney.

This is according to the chief executive of Visa Europe, Peter Ayliffe, who made this observation as the company announced it would be taking on 19 apprentices from this summer.

In all, six administration and business roles have been created, as have 12 in processing operations and one in the finance department.

Mr Ayliffe observed that the company is always on the lookout for ambitious people to become part of the team, adding: "These apprentices will be joining us at a very exciting time," what with the developments currently going on in the industry with regards to contactless payments.

Kevin Harrington of Global Prepaid Exchange recently highlighted some of the benefits of a cashless society, saying it can reduce queuing times at busy periods of the day, with less time spent processing each order.
