Scottish hotel guests to profit from sQuid's loyalty card scheme
13 Oct 2010
Guests staying in a luxury Scottish hotel will now be able to benefit from a new loyalty card scheme developed by e-money payments provider sQuid.
The Landmark Hotel in Dundee will offer its customers the chance to earn rewards which can be redeemed in its bar and restaurant using sQuid's contactless smart card. Guests will also earn 'booker' rewards each time they arrange to stay at the four-star venue.
In addition to the loyalty scheme, the cards can also facilitate contactless transactions, allowing users to pay for goods and services at the hotel without the need for cash.
Mike Metcalfe, general manager of The Landmark Hotel, said: "We will load their [customer's] sQuid card with a cash credit every time they visit the hotel and this can be collected and used for any of our hotel facilities in the future.
"It's our way of thanking our guests for their loyalty."
Earlier this year, the Nottingham Gateway Hotel became the first British hotel to use the sQuid loyalty card scheme.
