Shopify and Skrill Holdings partner for contactless payment strategy
19 May 2011
People who are interested in the latest contactless payment schemes may want to take note of a new partnership between online e-commerce platform Shopify and Skrill Holdings.
The latter has European digital payments firm Moneybookers within its portfolio, which Shopify customers can now take advantage of.
Moneybookers allows members to avoid the need to put in credit or debit card details over the web, using a relevant email and password as an alternative to complete the transaction.
By agreeing to the deal, merchants with Shopify can now benefit being able to sell across the world by accepting more than 100 payment options via a single integration.
Meanwhile, Brits have recently been told that American Express contactless credit cards are to be issued via credit company MBNA to customers in the UK.
The new payment solutions will be sent out as a replacement to older alternatives, through a reissue programme, as well as to those who have lost their previous American Express card.
