Smart technologies event in France this November

Contactless smart card technology will be one of the subjects of debate for those attending Cartes 2009 and IDentification in November.

Dubbed the "world leading event in digital security and smart technologies", the gathering is set to run from November 17th to 19th and involves the two aforementioned exhibitions.

Smart cards, smart devices, other contactless technologies and various payment methods such as e-transaction have all been listed on the agenda for the occasion, which will be held at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre.

Customer loyalty will be another subject covered by the three-day show.

A joint statement by Cartes and Identification earlier this year said: "A real concentration of information and expertise, for three days the congress will bring together 1,500 delegates and 240 speakers to discuss the latest technical developments and their marketing and strategic issues."

This event is on the horizon as eMoney secure payments network sQuidcard, which is regulated by the Financial Services Authority but operates outside of the traditional banking framework, provides a contactless smart card to people of all ages in the UK.

Indeed, sQuid launched an integrated payment and loyalty smart card with Coffee Republic earlier in the year.
