Premier League footballer: I always use London transit system

A premier League footballer has revealed that he always uses London's transit system to get around in the capital.

Speaking to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham player and Cameroon international Benoit Assou-Ekotto said he likes London and spends more time there than he does in France, where he was born.

"I like the mentality here. I have an Oyster Card and can use the Tube stations without a problem. The people on the Tube are very friendly," he commented.

"They ask me why I use the Tube and I say why not?"

Assou-Ekotto once said in an interview that he thinks most footballers are motivated by money, so perhaps he is trying to dispel this notion by saving money on the transit system.

Earlier this month, an even more famous face in the form of pop star Rihanna was spotted on the London Underground, using her Oyster Card to get to the O2 Arena for her own concert.
