TfL reminds youngsters over Oyster Card deadline

Transport for London (TfL) has issued a reminder to young people using London's transit system regarding their 18+ student Oyster Card.

The organisation has said that anyone needing to renew or reapply for their photocard must do so by October 14th 2011 if they are to continue to receive free or cut-priced travel, This is Local London reports.

Users of the transit system's pre-paid Oyster Cards will be required to log on to the TfL website and follow the links to the relevant section in order to confirm their details.

Steve Burton, director of community, safety, enforcement and policing for TfL, said: "We want all young Londoners to make the most of the travel concessions on offer to them and apply for or renew their Zip card with ample time for them to be processed."

Last month, it was announced that TfL would be implementing changes on its transit system next year to prevent travellers overpaying for their journeys by accident.
