sQuid in schools
Cashless catering and more
Does your school require a low-cost, easy to administer and effective system for replacing cash transactions and potentially other types of transaction on campus?
Our eMoney purse on a sQuid smart card, enables your school to ensure all services are correctly paid and accounted for, at low cost, via a secure payment system. sQuid eMoney can also be added to existing school smart cards.
Schools in Wiltshire. Sheldon and St. Augustine's Catholic College are already using sQuid for their cashless catering. Read more on the Wiltshire County Council web site. sQuid is also used in Banbury School in Oxfordshire and is working in partnership with caterers Innovate.
Innovate - cashless catering card
Students and staff use an Innovate sQuid card to pay for food and drink at the school canteen. It can be topped up online so that pupils don't have to bring cash to school.

The proposition for students is around simplicity, speed, and security. An eMoney purse gives students (and parents) the benefit of a non-cash payment service, and encourages easy and efficient use of the schools services. It also allows a simple, discrete method for administering free school meal (FSM) benefit.
The core features of the sQuid service include:-
Registration and issuing of smartcards via a simple, auditable process, with control of distribution on campus
Students/Guardians activate the eMoney purse online via an easy to use web portal - registering name, address, password and card number to access the system
The stored value on the card is used to make a transaction - for example cashless catering - the student taps the card on the reader by the till, the purse is read and value is deducted
Card is reloadable, offline or over the internet, with value being deposited on the card when next used at a reader. A cash/cheque upload facility can also be made available at a school office
The technology platform used by sQuidcard is unique but straight forward, using proven card and reader technology, which is already in use in Schools and retail outlets in the UK.
A back-office supports the sQuidcard platform, and enables your school to access reports on transactions and general card usage information.
