How does sQuid work?
How does sQuid work on one of our contactless smart cards?
sQuidcard uses the latest contactless smart card technology. Each smart card has a unique registration number that is linked to a specific eMoney account. When you make a purchase, the card reader scans the encrypted code accepts the payment, depending on the available funds. This all takes less than two seconds.
How does sQuid work with biometrics?
Instead of paying with cash, tap your finger against the biometric reader to pay for your transaction, the reader will then either accept or reject the payment, depending on the available funds. This all takes less than two seconds. You should check the balance on the screen is correct before doing this. Your sQuid account will be debited straight away and details of the transaction will be displayed on your online statement.
How does sQuid work with Fuel Zone?
Instead of paying with cash, hand over your Q card or NEC card to the cashier to complete your purchase. Once your payment is processed, you’ll see an update of your balance. Your Fuel Zone account will be debited straight away and details of the transaction will be displayed on your online statement.
Is a sQuid like a bank debit or credit card?
No, you can’t get into debt with a sQuid, you can only spend what’s loaded onto your account. To use a sQuid you must pre-load money onto your account using the internet or add funds at a participating till point.
